What is the Whitewater Forensics Institute?
The Whitewater Forensics Institute is a high school speech camp in Whitewater, WI designed to give high school forensics competitors a head start on their next competitive season. Over the course of camp, students will learn how to craft pieces in their chosen category, as well as performance techniques, and practice strategies.
Additionally, campers will have the opportunity to learn about forensics in college, and a little bit about college life. Students will also make connections with fellow competitors, coaches, and members of the college forensics circuit.
When is it, and where is it located?
The Whitewater Forensics Institute begins on Sunday, July 5th and goes until Saturday, July 11th. The camp is hosted on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's campus, located in Whitewater, WI. Students typically stay in college dorm rooms, but commuter options are available by request.
How will the Whitewater Forensics Institute be impacted by COVID-19?
The camp directors and staff are actively monitoring the ever-evolving situation surrounding COVID-19. We are fully adhering to guidelines handed down from the CDC, Governor Evers, the UW System, and the UW-Whitewater administration. At this time, summer camps at UW-Whitewater are still scheduled to run as they are. In the event that in-person summer camps are disallowed, we will evaluate the possibility of an online speech camp format for WFI based on enrollment numbers.
Given the current situation, we are allowing interested camp attendees to register risk-free with no down payment requried. Should in-person summer camps at UW-Whitewater be cancelled, you will not owe any money. In this scenario, if you already paid, you will be refunded.
